search engine optimisation

Odds are if you have found this page, you have got a website – or you are certainly doing hard research into getting one. Search engine optimisation, more commonly known as SEO, is the practice of making sure that your website not only looks good to a customer, but also to search engines. We have seen it time and time again, excellent designs but no customers. This is where we will try to help!

You’ll find that only way people will know about your website is through word of mouth, real world marketing, online marketing or most importantly, a search engine. Getting yourself on the first page of search engine results is very tricky. There are two ways of going about it; paying the search engine for the privilege through schemes such as Google Adwords ™ and Yahoo! Search Marketing™, or by getting results organically.

The best way to understand how important search engines can be in getting you visitors is by having a look at the chart below. This is from a (willing) client of ours, Gamestyle.net. Almost 45% of their monthly visits comes from search engines. That’s a whopping 4,500 people per month – which, by not having a search engine optimised site, you could be potentially missing out on. We have managed to get that level of traffic organically – without the requirement for paid advertisements.
